4/2/25- Durham Agriculture Committee mtg- Durham Eureka Center

Board Present- Dave Colson, Eric Day, Krista Chappell, Steve Sinisi, Meg Grimes, Claire Ross, Jonah- Fertig-Burd Public- Jud Grimes

Mtg called to order at 6:08pm Motion to accept meeting Min. from Feb mtg, Motion -Steve Second- Claire There was no March meeting due to no quorum.

Began review of Land Use Ordinances- Recognised- sections 3.1, 5.3,5.8, 5.15, 5.20, 5.21, 5.22, 5.25, 5.29, 5.31,9.10,10,14.3 These sections contain language or could possibly affect agriculture in town.

Started Conversation around section 19 definitions. Will look into State of Maine's Definition and New Hampshire's definition. Need to look into a definition for temp buildings as it pertains to agriculture. Conversation around fee schedule for farm infrastructure.

Board decided on the following definitions to work on or create and also divided sections out to board members to work on and bring back to the next meeting for review.

Claire- Agriculture Eric- Ag Infrastructure Meg- Ag tourism

Steve- Ag products,processing and storage Jonah- Ag Enterprise Dave- Ag Land management practices. Other of interest were Farm Enterprise Standards

Board looked at Section 5.3 and discussion. Conditional use permits and farms and agriculture Need better definitions to support section 5.3 Local farm needs How to support town leaders to help support local farms and there needs Help town leaders make better/consistent decisions around ag uses and farm rights.
