Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes October 10, 2024 Eureka Community Center, 6:00pm

Meeting called to order 6:04 pm

I. Establish a quorum Quorum established

II. In attendance

Present Lois Kilby-Chesley, Chair Emily Alexander, Secretary Candace DeCsipkes Sandra Hilton, Alternate Paula Erdmann-Purdy

Absent David McLellan

No guests

III. Approve Minutes

a. Approve meeting minutes from September 19, 2024

Motion to approve minutes Seconded All in favor

Paula Ermann-Purdy abstains

IV. Information and Reports (no vote necessary)

a. Select Board agenda was amended

V. Continuing Business

a. Vision Planning Motion to postpone DHDC vision planning until next meeting Seconded All in favor

b. Trifold Review

1. Overall layout looks good

2. Shiloh Temple needs to be changed to Shiloh Chapel

3. ‘Durham, Me’ font should be changed as it is too difficult to read

Motion to approve trifold with above amendments Seconded All in favor

c. Brochure

Motion to edit brochure and do a reprint Seconded All in favor

VI. New Business

a. Architectural Survey

1. Maine Preservation commission recommended questions be answered before a survey is conducted. Questions condensed and then were forwarded to the Select Board.

2. Survey answers still pending from September 10th email to Select Board

3. Select Board has given permission to request bids for architectural survey

Motion to send an email to Select Board requesting clarification on survey stipulations as posed in previous emails dated September 10th and 26th Seconded All in favor

b. Election table for November 5th, Election runs 8am-8pm

1. Volunteers

Candy 8am-11am ______ 11am-2pm Sandra 2pm-5pm

*Paula is unable to help with the election table

2. Table will have trifold and brochures

3. Sign-up to be a DHDC commissioner

● Paula to forward email from Phippsburg Historical Society

● Emily to fix brochure and reprint with Lois

● Lois to email Select Board concerning survey

● First of the one hour vision planning to take place at next DHDC meeting

● Discussion of Select Board’s meeting on October 29th
