Durham Conservation Commission

February 19, 2025; 6:30 – 8:00 pm; Eureka Center

DCC Attendees: Sam Cuccaro, Jess Costa, Roberta Brezinski, Mike Friendly, Jeff Tindall

1. January meeting minutes approved (Jess to send to Kimberly)

2. Mike and Jess provided update on BESS/solar contract zoning Planning Board meeting

a. March 12 @ 6 pm - Planning Board meeting

b. Mike to send email to Select Board with DCCs concerns about the proposed ordinance (take solar out of this warrant, DCC prefers a system similar to Topsham’s mitigation fees)

3. Roberta to draft write-up about RRCT for the News Blast (link to their newsletter about the Yarmouth dams removal projects)

4. Proposed subdivisions

a. Deer Creek Crossing/Planning board - recently approved by Planning Board

b. Oak Fell – DCC had attended the site walk, there is a proposed conservation area as part of proposed development, submitting application in March

c. Bowie Hill Phase 2 – Jess shared letter about the Inland Wading Bird and Waterfowl habitat with Juliet/Planning Board, submitting application in March

5. Mid-April timeframe for notification of ME Won’t Wait Climate Action grant awards
