Durham Conservation Commission

June 19, 2024; 6:30 – 8:00 pm; Eureka Center

DCC Attendees: Roberta Brezinski, Sam Cuccaro, Mike Friendly, Jess Costa, Jeff Tindall

• May meeting notes approved

• Bowie hill site walk follow up discussion

o   DCC’s questions sent to George and he forwarded to the Applicant and Planning Board

o   DCC can ask questions at the Public Hearing (date TBD)

• Point people for reviewing Planning Board agendas and application materials in case there are proposed developments DCC wants to comment on (Michael and Jeff)

• Summary of Resource Protection Zone update subcommittee meeting

o   3 potential options for providing opportunity to ~25 affected landowners for expansion
    in existing developed areas now characterized as RPZ

o   Next subcommittee meeting will be July 31

• Debrief on Community Resiliency Planning Climate Action Grant denied application

o   Suggested improvements for next application round

o   Roberta to reach out to GPCOG for resources/support of Open Space Plan

• Next steps solar ordinance/location suitability map

o   August meeting view applicable map layers on screen at Eureka Center

• Open space tax incentive newsblast

o   Sam will format and send to Kimberly

• July meeting deploy bat acoustic detectors on Michael’s property on Runaround Pond, meet at boat launch Tuesday July 16 @ 630 pm
