Y A Town Of Durham | Ns > Solid Waste Committee Minutes Q Ds Eureka Community Center, 6:30 pm OR March 10, 2025

1. Roll Call & Determination of a Quorum In attendance: Todd Beaulieu, Juliet Caplinger, Calvin Beaumier and Milt Simon. Meeting called to order at 6:35pm at the Eureka Community Center.

2. Acceptance of Meeting Minutes (December 9, 2024) No minutes from 12/9/24 due to lack of a quorum.

3. Voting of Committee Chair: Committee voted Juliet Caplinger as new Chair, replacing Curtis Dimock.

4. Continuing Business:

e Calvin Beaumier offered to research internet options for the community center.

e Chair to confirm with Selectboard that meetings are to now take place regularly at the Eureka Community Center on the 2"' Monday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m.

e Chair to request the Town immediately announce openings for 1 additional voting member and 2 alternate members.

e Committee reviewed latest By-Laws draft. A final documented version is to be voted on and signed during Committee’s next meeting.

e Committee accepted offer by Casella Waste Management to send a representative to Committee’s April meeting to present pro’s and con’s of their “Pay-As-You-Throw” program (NOTE: exact title of program not verified) .

e Committee reviewed summation of talking points from Town of Pownal’s participation during committee’s 12/9/24 meeting. Two members of Pownal’s Solid Waste Committee attended this meeting and expressed their town’s potential interest in participating should the Town of Durham pursue its own transfer station.

e Calvin Beaumier offered to prepare list of town-owned properties, located adjacent or in close proximity to the Pownal town line, which might be considered for location of a future transfer station.

e Todd Beaulieu offered to research private properties which might also be considered.
